Celestial meeting point in Taurus

The celestial meeting point in Taurus

As the time goes by, back in the Czech Republic there is probably the only place I really love. It’s my childhood place – Sec reservoir. Spending time here means just remembering the amazing views to the naturally dark skies above Atacama desert or the Cook Island and New Zealand. Nothing like that is visible here. Lot of light pollution expanded in last 15 years and the views to the stars are not even close beautiful as in other places I visited last year. But still – sometimes even here is some opportunity to enjoy a night sky show. Like on 21st April 2015, when the young Moon was just passing by Aldebaran, the brightest star of Taurus constellation, close to the Hyades, Pleiades and bright planet Venus. I just took my camera and walked on the beach of the reservoir until I found a pleasant view to the celestial meeting. And enjoyed it as in old times a decade ago… Used Canon 6D Baader IR Mod, Samyang 24 mm, f5.6, 3200 ISO, 6 s.
