Green flashing postcard from Paranal
It’s 26th January, 2015, and the Sun was slowly setting down over the cloudy horizon over the
Atacama desert. Well, not that slowly to prepare the equipment, thus I only stood in front of the
La Residencia of the
Paranal Observatory and from my hand tried to capture the last moments of the Sun’s good-bye that day. I just knew that something unusual could occur – a
green flashing of the last Sun’s last light. But what I saw was over my expectations. The atmosphere literally cutted Sun’s upper part and everytime it happened, this part colored to bright green before it fade out. All it took just a seconds, but the experience was incredible! Used Canon 6D IR Baader Mod, Tamron 70-300 mm.
