The young Moon

The young Moon

The Moon is such a beautiful when its phase gives you opportunity to see something like this, captured on 30th April, 2017, over the Ústupky, Czech Republic. Directly illuminated side shows lot of lunar craters, while the “dark side” is, actually, not totally dark. It can be seen by naked eyes as well because of the Earthine. Looking by a telescope, you can also find stars around as the Moon is still not that bright. It is not easy to make a shot like this, cause the high dynamic range of the view doesn’t allow to make a single shot with classical DSLR. Therefore I had to deal with that, using a HDR imaging method so I could simulate what the human eye can see. Used Canon 6D, MTO-1000 AW (f10.5/1100), ISO 250, exp. 1/15 to 13 seconds, Vixen GP-2 mount.
