Rare nova over the Supernova

Rare nova over the Supernova

In the end of April 2018, astronomers noticed a “new” star in Perseus constellation, later identified as rare dwarf nova V392 Persei. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t good in hours after maximum brightness of the nova here in Garching, Germany, however I could take this unusually symbolic shot not so late after on 2nd May 2018. The nova is in the sky with foreground of new ESO Supernova Planetarium & Visitor Centre. So nova and supernova in one image, indeed 🙂 Used Canon 6D, Sigma 24 mm (wide view) and Pentacon 135 mm (detail).
