What an amazing moment in the morning on 27th November 2013. Just when I prepaired my equipment, comet C/2013 R1 Lovejoy was perfectly situated by its tail in front of galaxy M51 called Whirpool (in Canes Venatici constellation). The comet is easily visible to naked eyes out of cities with light pollution. Photo captured from Úpice observatory, Czech republic. I used Canon 20D, Pentacon 200/4, ISO 1600, 41×30 s galaxy + 32×30 s comet, paralactic mount.
