Comet ATLAS, galaxies and dust

Comet ATLAS, galaxies and dust – annotated
Comet ATLAS (C/2019 Y4), visible by
Big Dipper these days, is now a hot candidate for bright comet 2020, visible even to
naked eyes in mid-May. Every comet chaser is getting excited about what’s going to happen in the next months. While waiting for that, I made it happen to capture The green comet when it made
beautiful flyby close to “
Bode’s Galaxy” M81 and “
Cigar Galaxy” M82, visible from Ústupky, the Czech Republic. Multiexposure shows on left comet’s movement during three days of mid-March against the deep field of
interstellar dust as well, while distant
M81 group appears mostly on right part. It is also noticeable comet is brightening every next day. Fingers crossed to be witnessed as good as possible cometary show in a month! Captured on March 16-18, 2020, always around 23 UTC. Used Canon 6D, Pentacon 135 mm, f2.8, 3.5, 5.6; 300 mm, f4, ISO 3200, vary exposures 2-4 minutes, darkframes applied. Tracked on
Vixen Polarie mount.
