As Peter Jackson made New Zealand so famous by the Lord of the ring movies, everybody is traveling across the country to see the places of all scenes. But does everybody think about what could Glumm or Frodo actually see, when they spent every night of their journey under the clear skies? Well, this could be the answer. Absolutely stunning Milky way is like a line on the Sauron’s eye, colors of airglow make the night more magic and zodiacal light is like a column showing the direction of their way. Or not? Well, colors of airglow are almost invisible to human eye, but who knows, how good eyes has a hobbit. Image captured in “outback” of Waihau Bay, in the midway between Gisborne and Tolaga Bay, New Zealand, 28th June 2014. Used Canon 6D, Sigma 15 mm, f2.8, ISO 10000, 14×20 s panorama, tripod.
