Have you ever dreamt about relaxing in bed in the middle of the night and having the view out of the room directly to the Milky Way? Well, I found this spot. It’s a room in Lauder School BB, New Zealand, managed by lovely couple Bruce and Esmé MacDonald, where you can just lie down on the bed and watch the setting Milky way over the street. There’s no big city a hundred kilometres around, no powerful lamp on the road. Just a small pub and that’s all. Thru the left window you can see Southern Cross in its opposite orientation as we usually know, and right from that the brightest star is Rigil Kent and Alpha Centauri – star with closest extrasolar planet to the Earth. In the right window, there is the center of the Milky Way with a green hue caused by airglow. I was just watching the pure beauty of night sky and couldn’t fall asleep… Capured on 24th October 2014 from the bed by Canon 6D, Samyang 24 mm, f1.4, ISO 8000, 7×15 s panorama, tripod.
